Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteer Form

Our volunteer program is the heart of our organization! After the initial training, you will be responsible for actual farm duties such as feeding the animals, haying, cleaning troughs, mucking stalls, grooming, etc. We ask that all of our volunteers commit to at least one shift per week that averages between 3-4 hours.

If you are interested in volunteering, fill out the form to the left and we will be in contact with you soon!

OUR VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS

Currently, we provide mentorship to many in the community, including weekly sessions with The Maryland Free State ChalleNGe Academy. The ChalleNGe Academy consists of two phases. The first portion is a 22 week residential phase in which the focus is enhancing personal tools the cadets will utilize in their adult lives; academic studies, healthy living, job skills, leadership opportunities and trade programs to name few. During their time within the program, they are offered volunteer opportunities with our animals as well as mentorship from our beloved volunteers.

The Harford Center is yet another example of the community groups that receive therapeutic benefit from our sanctuary. The Harford Center provides individualized services to adults with disabilities. These adults live independent and fulfilling lives while being involved in many programs such as ours. Many of the adults from the Harford Center find therapeutic benefits in their weekly time spent with our horses.
